Katie is a critical thinker, an effective advocate, and a creative problem solver. She is consistently recognized as a Super Lawyers- Rising Star since 2015, Katie is compassionate, flexible, thoughtful, and tenacious in her approach to advocacy and litigation. In matters ranging from serious personal injury and wrongful death to breach of contract, Katie brings her experience in complex and often-times high stakes litigation to every client. She also helps clients to avoid costly and protracted litigation to the extent possible but will fight for her clients to get every penny they deserve. In addition, Katie provides general counsel to clients who need an advocate or counselor outside of the courtroom setting. In each instance, Katie enjoys helping clients and posturing them towards the best possible outcome.
Beyond her law practice, Katie is active and engaged in the community. She serves on the Vestry of Grace Church Cathedral; volunteers at James Simons Elementary; serves on the South Carolina Bar’s Trial and Appellate Advocacy Council and the Judicial Qualifications Committee, and is a Riley Diversity Fellow. In addition, Katie has served as general counsel for two gubernatorial campaigns and other South Carolina progressive campaigns and causes. She genuinely loves to help others and enthusiastically supports good community causes whenever possible.
Along with her passion for service, Katie loves to spend time with her husband, Chris; sons, Jude and Vance; and Goldendoodle, Finn. Whether she is running around Hampton Park or spending quality time with family and friends, Katie's favorite place to be is in and around her neighborhood, Wagener Terrace.
